David Pattyn

David works as an anesthesiologist in ’s Hertogenbosch, The Netherlands. He has always had a special interest in nature and birds in particular. Wildlife photography started as a hobby but evolved into a real passion. He has been awarded in numerous nature photo competitions  (GDT European Wildlife Photographer of the Year, Natures Best, Glanzlichter, Asferico, AFPAN, Memorial Maria Luisa, etc…). His pictures and articles have been published in calendars, books and magazines.

David likes to travel with his wife Charlotte to areas of great natural beauty and his sons Jef and Louis also like photography.

David has spent countless hours in self-made floating hides photographing the intimate life of numerous species of water birds with a particular passion for grebes. To get to work with the inflatable hide of Mr Jan Gear opened up a new range of possibilities.
